VW ID. Buzz can become a camper for as low as €2.6k

Volkswagen has launched a package called “Good-Night” for its all-electric ID. Buzz passenger minivan in Europe. It contains everything necessary for a weekend trip, the company argues.

The list starts with a bed measuring 200 x 120 cm (78.7 x 47.2 inches) large. You can unfold it on top of the folded rear seats and tuck away in the trunk when not used. A folding table and a couple of chairs are also provided for outdoor dining, but no awning of any kind.

Volkswagen seems to have prioritized climate control and long-term comfort in this release. The Good-Night package comes with privacy curtains for the windows and anti-mosquito meshes for proper ventilation at all times. When the air is hot and motionless, the EV can tap into its main battery to power the on-board AC for up to 48 hours straight. The van can also share its power with external appliances and even other cars via a provided V2L interface.

Those interested can already order it in Germany starting from €2,600. Volkswagen points out that only the passenger version of the ID. Buzz is currently supported, even if the package looks like it could be used with the LCV version.
